LBi-2.4: Material Emissions: Ceiling Systems

Product may assist in a project obtaining credit point as a ceiling system that complies with the requirements of BS EN 13964:2004 of no asbestos, formaldehyde content not exceeding class E1, and any adhesives, sealants, paints and coatings comply with the requirements of LBi-2.2 and 2.3.

Product may assist in a project obtaining this credit by providing adequate air quality within enclosed car parks. Credit point is achieved if the ventilation design meets or exceeds requirements for CO, NO2, and particular matter concentrations in car parks, as determined in ASHRAE 62.1.2007.

LBi-5.2 Thermal Comfort and Control: Occupant Control

Product may assist in a project obtaining this credit by ensuring

 

That the ventilation/temperature control system for mechanical ventilation allows for individual occupant control of temperature and or air speed as follows:

 

1 Credit Point: a minimum of one control per two occupants in the occupied area

1Credit Point: provide occupancy sensors linked to HVAC control systems that automatically adjust temperature and air flow based on occupancy

 

Or for Mixed-mode Ventilation:

 

1 Credit Point: the provision of operable windows for 50% of the occupied are

LBi-6: High Frequency Lighting

Product may assist in a project obtaining this credit by ensuring no incandescent lamps are required as high frequency electronic ballast or other efficient means of electric lighting.  Credit point is achieved if 95% of luminaries incorporate high frequency and occupancy sensors in all rooms intended for individual occupancy, meeting rooms, office spaces, and hallways or corridors.

LBi-7: Daylight & Glare

Product may assist in a project obtaining this requirement by optimising interior access to daylight for the purposes of improved health and comfort for building users.  To achieve credit points daylight and occupancy sensors must be installed to light fittings that receive daylight and in all rooms intended for individual occupancy, meeting rooms, open plan office spaces, and hallways or corridors; all windows have manually or automated controlled internal or external glare control devices, and automated glare control devices are connected to the building management system; the prescribed minimum daylight illuminance is met for 50% of the occupied are for one point, and 75% for two credit points.

Product may assist in a project obtaining this credit by contributing to a direct line of sight to the outside through vision glazing.  Credit point is achieved where 75% of the nominated areas have vision glazing.

LBi-9: Indoor Noise Pollution

Product may assist in a project obtaining this credit by improving the noise isolation of normally occupied premises/rooms to reduce impact of unwanted noise. Credit point is achieved if internal ambient noise levels do not exceed 50 dBa or the prescribed level for the nominated areas.
