Pearls Rating System For Estidama v1 2010 [RE]

RE-r1: Minimum Energy Performance

Product may assist in a project obtaining this requirement if the building meets the prescribed percentage performance improvement compared to the baseline.

Points Available

Requirement

RE-r2: Energy Monitoring and Reporting

Product may assist in a project obtaining this requirement by recording and monitoring the energy performance of the building.

Points Available

Requirement

RE-r3: Ozone Impacts of Refrigerants and Fire Systems

Product may assist in a project obtaining this requirement by eliminating the impact of building operations on the ozone layer.  To meet the requirement, all refrigerants and fire suppression systems must have an ODP of zero.

Requirement

RE-1: Improved Energy Performance

Product may assist in a project obtaining this credit for reduced energy consumption and carbon emissions during building operation compared to the baseline building consumption determined in RE-r1.  Number of points awarded is determined by the percentage reduction from the baseline.

15

RE-2: Cool Building Strategies

Product may assist in a project obtaining this requirement by reducing external heat gain through the use of high solar reflective materials.  Number of points awarded is determined by the percentage reduction in annual heat gain from the baseline.  One point is awarded for the use of roofing materials with a Solar Reflectance Index (SRI) of at least 78.

RE-3: Energy Efficient Appliances

Product may assist in a project obtaining this requirement by minimising the energy consumed by common building appliances.  Appliances must be Energy Star accredited, have a minimum A rating under the EU Energy Efficiency Labelling Scheme, or an appropriate level under a comparable rating scheme provided the appliance meets or exceeds the levels under Energy Star or EU EELS.

RE-4: Verticle Transportation

Product may assist in a project obtaining this credit by providing easily accessible day lit or well lit stairs, energy efficient lifts, and energy efficient escalators/travelators in accordance with the prescribed requirements.

Points Available

3

RE-5: Peak Load Reduction

Product may assist in a project obtaining this credit by reducing energy demand and consequent increased infrastructure requirements to cater for loads at peak use times. 2 credit points are awarded if peak electrical demand is reduced by active means and demand is less than 80% greater than the project design annual average load. 4 credit points are awarded if peak electrical demand is reduced by active means and  is less than 60% greater than the project design annual average load.

4

RE-6: Renewable Energy

Product may assist in a project obtaining this credit by providing onsite renewable energy therefore reducing the emissions associated with building operation and the reliance on fossil fuel for power generation.  Number of points awarded is determined by the percentage of building energy consumption supplied through onsite renewable energy.

Points Available

8

RE-7: Global Warming Impacts of Refrigerants & Fire Suppression Systems

Product may assist in a project obtaining this credit by minimising impacts of refrigerants and fire systems to the atmosphere. 1 credit point is awarded where the weighted average of all the refrigerants have a global warming potential (GWP) of 10 or less.  1 credit point is awarded for a permanent refrigerant leak detection system.  1 credit point is awarded for automatic refrigerant pump down system to a dedicated storage tank.  One point is awarded when it is demonstrated that all gaseous fire suppression systems have a GWP of 1 or less.
