LEED for Commercial Interiors 2009 [EA]
ENERGY & ATMOSPHERE
EA Prerequisite 2: Minimum Energy Performance Product may assist a project to comply with the ANSI/ASHRAE/IENSA Standard 90.1-2007 for the tenant’s scope or works, when appropriately included in combination with other elements, to establish the minimum energy efficiency of a tenant space in accordance with prescribed requirements.
Required |
EA Prerequisite 3: Fundamental Refrigerant Management Product may assist a project when appropriately included in combination with other elements in reducing stratospheric ozone depletion through zero use of CFC-based refrigerants in HVAC&R systems when within the LEED project scope of work.

EA Credit 1.2: Optimize Energy Performance, Lighting Controls Product is likely to assist in a project obtaining this credit as it is a daylight responsive control or occupancy sensor. Credit points are achieved when either controls are provided for all daylight areas, for 50% of the lighting load or occupancy sensors are installed for 75% of the connected lighting load, in accordance with the prescribed requirements.

Points Available 3 |
EA Credit 1.3: Optimize Energy Performance, HVAC Product may assist in a project obtaining credits for increasing the energy performance of a project HVAC system. EA Credit 1.3 offers two credit achievement approaches (Option 1 & 2).
Option 1 includes 5 credit points for HVAC Equipment Efficiency and another 5 for Appropriate Zoning and Controls of the HVAC system, in accordance with prescribed requirements
Option 2 is performance based in the reduction by either 15% (5 points) or 30% (10 points) of the ANSI/ASHRAE/IENSA Standard 90.1-2007 minimum compliance.

EA Credit 1.4: Optimize Energy Performance, Equipment & Appliances Product may assist in a project obtaining credits as it is ENERGY STAR® rated and is considered eligible equipment for this credit. Eligible project equipment and appliances include appliances, office equipment, electronics and commercial food equipment (NB. This credit excludes HVAC, lighting and building envelope products). Credit points are achieved by the percentage (70/77/84/90%) of ENERGY STAR® rated equipment in tenant’s scope of works.

EA Credit 3: Measurement and Verification To achieve these credits tenant must be responsible for accountability and optimisation of energy and water consumption performance over time. EA Credit 1.3 offers two credit achievement approaches (Case 1 & 2).
Case 1 Projects less than 75% of the Building Area: Install submetering equipment or negotiate lease where by costs are paid by tenant and not included in base rent, in accordance with prescribed requirements.
Case 2 Projects 75% or more of the Building Area: Install metering equipment for the prescribed uses.
