MR Prerequisite 1: Storage and Collection of Recyclables

To meet this prerequisite a project must provide easily accessible area/areas for the collection and storage of materials for recycling for the tenant space. Materials at minimum include paper, corrugated cardboard, glass plastics and metals. Storage devices or waste chutes will contribute to this requirement.

MR Credit 1.2: Building Reuse – Maintain Interior Nonstructural Components

Product may assist in a project obtaining credits as it is reusable contributing to the percentage (40/60) of existing non shell non structural components (walls, floors and ceiling systems) maintained to achieve credit points.

MR Credit 2.1: Construction Waste Management Plan

To obtain this credit the project must develop and implement a construction waste management plan, recycling and/or salvaging at least 50% or 75% of construction, demolition and packaging debris.

To obtain this credit the project must develop and implement a construction waste management plan, recycling and/or salvaging at least 50% or 75% of construction, demolition and packaging debris.

 

The manufacturer/supplier of this product offers a product takeback scheme which may assist in the establishment and implementation of a construction waste management plan, or the product can be recycled (or down-cycled) and will assist in reducing on-site construction waste and assist in meeting the construction waste management plan requirements.

MR Credit 4: Recycled Content

Product is likely to assist in a project obtaining this credit. The project must incorporate post-consumer and pre-consumer recycled content of at least 10% or 20% based on the total value (cost) of materials used in the project, in accordance with the prescribed requirements.

MR Credit 5: Regional Materials

Product is likely to assist in a project obtaining this credit as it is manufactured within the region, through one of the following options.

 

Option 1:  The project must use a minimum of 20% of the combined value of construction and Division 12 (Furniture) materials and products which are manufactured regionally within a radius of 500 miles.

 

Option 2: Meet the requirements of option 1 and use a minimum of 10% of the combined value of construction and Division 12 (Furniture) materials and products which are extracted, harvested or recovered as well as manufactured regionally within a radius of 500 miles.

MR Credit 6: Rapidly Renewable Materials

Product is likely to assist in a project obtaining this credit. The project must incorporate rapidly renewable materials and products (i.e. typically harvested within a 10-year or shorter cycle) of at least 5% based on the total value (cost) of the materials used in the project.

MR Credit 7: Certified Wood

Product is likely to assist in a project obtaining this credit as it is in whole (or in part) certified in accordance with Forest Stewardship Council’s (FSC) Principles and Criteria. To achieve credit point a minimum of 50% of total virgin wood products used in the project must be FSC certified.

MR Credit 7 Note 1: Certified Wood

Product is likely to assist in a project obtaining this credit as it is in whole (or in part) certified in accordance with Forest Stewardship Council’s (FSC) Principles and Criteria. To achieve credit point a minimum of 50% of total virgin wood products used in the project must be FSC certified.

 

This product may assist a project in obtaining this credit as it provides an alternative to non-FSC certified timber product thereby minimising the value required in FSC timber to meet the 50% certified fraction.
