EA Prerequisite 3 Note 1: Fundamental Refrigerant Management Product is likely to assist in a project meeting the Rating System Prerequisite for the zero use of CFC-based refrigerants in HVAC&R systems. Product may contribute to a buildings overall thermal performance and assist in optimising a projects HVAC&R system and/or reliance on mechanical air conditioning. This may assist in eliminating the use of CFC-based refrigerants in a project.

EA Credit 4: Enhanced Refrigerant Management Product is likely to assist in a project obtaining this credit as it reduces (or eliminates) emissions that contribute to ozone depletion and thus climate change and support early compliance with the Montreal Protocol. Credit points are achieved through one of the following options. Option 1: Do not use refrigerants Option 2: Use of refrigerants and heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC&R) equipment that minimise or eliminate the emission of compounds that contribute to ozone depletion and climate change, in accordance with prescribed requirements.
